Beyond the city.
North Yorkshire.
Whilst the city itself provides plenty to do for any duration of stay, York also provides an ideal base to venture a little further and explore the rest of Yorkshire. The Sycamore is only 10 mins by foot from York Station, and only 9 mins by foot to the coach pick up point (Leeman Road, near York Station).
Castle Howard.
Distance from us: 25 mins by car
Situated just outside York in the Howardian Hills, Castle Howard was built over 300 years ago by Sir John Vanbrugh, and today remains home to the Howard family. Visitors make the trip to stroll around the stunning interiors of one of Britain’s finest stately homes and to explore 1,000 acres of Grade 1 listed parkland and gardens, dotted with statues, temples, lakes and fountains. New to the gardens is the recently constructed Skelf Island, a children's adventure playground.
The Coast.
Easy access to transport routes make it simple to make day-trips to Britain's historic and picturesque coastline. For those with a taste for fish and chips, we'd recommend the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough.
